The Bayview Historical Society is a privately run business founded in 2004 after six years of efforts to get a local historical society formed. The name has been registered in hopes that one day there will be enough local interest in promoting Bayview's past and in researching collecting, and cataloging the stories and photographs which document the many events of this area's vivid legacy. Because of the close ties to other small communities around the lake, I am interested in gathering the history of the entire local area. In the meantime I am committed to gathering and preserving all information made available to me and sharing the stories through all means possible. I invite any persons of like minds to join me in this effort. I encourage individuals and families with ties to Bayview, Lakeview and other communities at the south end of Lake Pend Oreille to submit information and photos to me for archival purposes. I work closely with the folks at the Bonner Museum in Sandpoint and the Museum of North Idaho in Coeur d'Alene in an effort to preserve the stories of this area. Linda Hackbarth
